        <link>http://kiwi-log-viewer-win.kiwi-enterprises.qarchive.org</link>
<description>Kiwi Log Viewer for Windows is a freeware application that displays text based log files in a tabular format. Only a small section of the file is read from disk at a time which saves memory and allows you to view a file that would be too big to fit in memory. The tail option monitors the specified log file for changes and displays any new data that is added in real time. Text string matching allows important text to be highlighted by using colors, bold, or italic font emphasis. Text matching options include simple sub-string matching or more powerful PERL style Regular Expression matching. Also available for Linux and Mac OSX.</description>

It's interface is excellent. I would like to have view filters. The need of a new file is very unpractical.

I can easily open up a large application log files for problem troubleshooting. Not only that, I can use it for log file tailing. Filtering and saving to a new file helps in providing more specific analysis of the log files based on specific keywords.

I found that if the viewer needs to be used to view a file that is currently in use by another program, the viewer will not open the file. It seems to react as wordpad does to a file in use...it will not open it. Notepad will open the file in a static mode, and baretailpro, will open these files and will provide the real time viewing that I need.
